The writing collected in this issue demonstrates this desperation to try to hold onto something that can only be fleeting: a song as it is heard at a concert, too soon ending; a relationship commemorated by talisman; the self in the mirror stripped bare of its costume; the first taste of spring being carried away on the breeze. The writing collected in this issue keeps holding anyway, white-knuckled, knowing that such a tight grip may be what finally causes the break.
