This option is ideal for writers who want another pair of eyes on a piece of writing before they begin submitting it for publication: I will offer a thorough line-by-line reading looking for any misspellings, wonky punctuation, or any small errors you might have missed--it is so easy to miss these things in our own work! I will help you make sure your work is polished and ready for consideration by providing a marked-up version of your document for your review. I will also include a short list of publications where I think your work may be a good fit.

Rates: $10 per page for works up to twenty-five pages. Payment is due upon request for service.
Response time: within five to ten days after the piece is received.

manuscript consultation
This option is ideal for writers with a complete--or nearly complete--draft of a manuscript that they are feeling stuck on or ready to take further. Over the course of two weeks, I will read your manuscript and offer a full work-up of suggested edits and/or expansions. I will also provide thorough line edits, and you will receive two documents from me: a marked-up version of your manuscript, including line-edits, questions, and comments; and document containing my end notes and general suggestions for your manuscript. I will also include a short list of presses and contests where I think your work may be a good fit, for when you're beginning to think about submitting.

During this process, we will also connect twice to discuss your work over phone or video call--these conversations will occur before I begin reading your manuscript so that we can discuss what you are looking for, and following my reading of your manuscript to go over my suggestions.

Rates: $600 for manuscripts 250 pages or fewer. Please contact regarding larger works. Payment is due at time of service.
